Mr. Clyde Clifford Abercrombie, age 91 of the Tails Creek community, Ellijay, GA passed on Sunday evening, April 24th, 2016 at the Gilmer Nursing Home.

Mr. Abercrombie was born on July 26th, 1924 in Ellijay, GA to his late parents Richard and Lorena Smith Abercrombie. Clyde was a member and deacon of Pleasant Gap Baptist Church, served honorably in the US Army during WWII, and retired from Galaxy Carpet as an inspector and career farmer. He is preceded in death by his brothers Hoyt, Otis, and Herman Abercrombie.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Pauline Davis Abercrombie of the home in Ellijay, GA; Daughter and son-in-law Elaine and David Westmoreland of Ellijay, GA; Son, Venson C. Abercrombie of Ellijay, GA; Grandchildren, Gina Callihan of Ellijay, GA and Andrew Westmoreland of McDonough, GA; Great grandchildren, Mary Lee Callihan, Emma Callihan, Elly Callihan, A.J. Callihan, Hadley Westmoreland and Lucy Westmoreland; Sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosalee and Rev. Emmett Burgess, Mattie A. Hood, and Elsie A. Kowitz, all of Ellijay, GA; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Genell Abercrombie, Leonard and Betty Abercrombie, all of Ellijay, GA and James and Teresa Abercrombie of Rome, GA also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamar Beason officiating. Music and vocals will be by Rev. Johnny Beason, Shannon Sanford and the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church Choir. A military graveside service will immediately follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with military graveside rites performed by the North GA Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Abercrombie, Johnny Abercrombie, Bobby Abercrombie, Jackie Abercrombie, Christopher Flood, Christopher Davis, Brittney Davis, Melvin Davis, Rick Davis, Scottie Davis and Tim Davis.

Family will receive friends from 4pm until 8pm on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 at Logan Funeral Home.
