Ms. Ethel Mae McArthur Chastain, age 87 of the Tails Creek community, Ellijay, GA passed Wednesday morning, September 21st, 2016.

Ms. Chastain was born August 7th, 1929 in Blue Ridge, GA to her late parents David Lee and Nola Elizabeth Postell McArthur. She was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church, worked in the textile industry and was also as a cook at the Dairy Queen. She is preceded in death by her husband, Junior Chastain, sisters Bonnie Long and Amy Banks, and brothers Rev. Marvin McArthur and Cleaburn McArthur.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Angie and Robert Reed of Ellijay, GA, Hilda Chastain Dotson of Ellijay, GA, and Juanita and Earnest Jones of Chatsworth, GA; Sons and daughters-in-law, Lanny and Elaine Chastain of Ellijay, GA and Harold and Bobby Chastain of Ellijay, GA; Grandchildren, Marty Pankey, Brent Chastain, Branson Chastain, Jason Reed, Timothy Reed, Tommy Hice, Bobby Hice, Curtis Jones, Sheri Adams, Heather Jones, Melissa Jones, Christy Watson and Brittney Hefner; 19 Great grandchildren; 2 Great great grandchildren; Brothers, Arvin McArthur, Mafford McArthur, Claude McArthur, Doug McArthur and Buford McArthur, all of Ellijay, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Saturday, September 24th, 2016 from the Ridgeway Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Burgess, Rev. Jerry Banks, and Rev. Mafford McArthur officiating. Music and vocals will be by Rev. Mafford McArthur, Trina Chastain, and Joan Nelson. Graveside interment will follow in the Ridgeway Baptist Church Cemetery with Marty Pankey, Branson Chastain, Brent Chastain, Jason Reed, Tommy Hice, and Curtis Jones serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy Reed, Bobby Hice, and Elmer Pankey.

Family will receive friends from 5pm until 9pm on Thursday, September 22nd, 2016 and from 9am until 9pm on Friday, September 23rd, 2016 at the Logan Funeral Home.
