Mr. William Hal Westmoreland, age 62, of Snellville, GA formerly of Ellijay passed Friday, March 24, 2017 at his home.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Rosalind Smith Westmoreland, niece Nancy Lynn Westmoreland and nephew Rob Westmoreland.

He is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law David and Elaine Westmoreland and Robert and Deborah Westmoreland, all of Ellijay, GA; aunt, Doris Robinson of St. Simons Island, GA; Survivors also include nieces Joni Harvey, Gina Callihan and Anna Westmoreland and nephew Andrew Westmoreland. He also left behind six great nieces and two great nephews. Many loving cousins and his special friend and caregiver Rayford Necaise of the home also survive.

Hal was a 1972 graduate of Gilmer High School and attended West Georgia College. He was active for several years in the music department of the Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church of Ellijay. Hal left behind many other family members and friends. His warm spirit, love and concern for others will be long remembered.
