Mrs. Barbara Stacy Helton, age 73, of Cherry Log, GA, died Thursday June 29, 2017.

Mrs. Helton was born March 30, 1944 in Waynesville, NC the daughter of the late James Carl and Eva Gaddy Stacy. She worked as a bus driver for Gilmer County Board of Education and was a member of the Cherry Log Baptist Church.

Survivors include: Husband; Billy Helton, sons Eddie Phillips, Waycross, Michael Ray Woody, East vale, CA, step son; Ronnie Helton, Cherry Log, step-daughter; Phyllis Mayfield, Cherry Log, 2 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren 1 great-grandchild, brothers; Carl D. Stacy, Sylva, NC, James S. Stacy, Franklin, NC, sister; Shirley Farmer, Sylvia, NC.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at 1:00pm from the Bernhardt Funeral Home Chapel.
