December at the library: Festival of trees

Community, News

Last Monday, November 29, 2010, the Gilmer County Library held an opening night for their annual Festival of Trees, where local businesses brought in decorated trees to set up all over the library.

The trees are now up and will remain on display until the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

This year showcased over 30 trees, so many that a whole room was dedicated to them.

Some of the trees showcased in this year’s festival were elegantly littered with traditional decorations, while other local business’ trees boasted superior creativity and uniqueness.

East Towne Cinemas was one local businesses that chose a more inventive route, decorating with industry themed decor–film reels, ticket stubs, and a bag popcorn.

While enjoying the elaborate festive decorations, there are several other events to take part in at the library during December, for all ages.

Check the December 2010 Library Events Calendar for complete information or call the library at 706-635-4528.
