Lap-Sit Storytime – Polar Bears

Lap-Sit story time is a fun and personalized way to encourage early literacy by including books, songs, rhymes, and physical activity for ages 1 to 3 years with a participating adult.
Weekday Storytime – Happy Hippos
Tuesday, February 3 @ 10:30 AM
Come and listen to Mrs. Judy as she tells the story of the Happy Hippos. Right after the story, we always have craft time. All ages are welcome. Children under 9 require a responsible adult.

If you 13-18 years of age, and want some say in the programs and books being offered by your library, we invite to come join the Teen Advisory Board, and share your input and ideas.

Internet Basics

We will be teaching the basics of how to get on the Internet, search for and navigate websites, and signing up for an email account. Limited spots available. Registration is recommended

Adult Lunch and Learn Knitting & Crocheting
Wednesday, February 4 @ 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, that’s ok. You don’t have to be at every class. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.
Masters Gardeners – Beat the Winter Blues
Thursday, February 5 @ 6:00 PM
The Master Gardeners of Gilmer County invite you to their first program of 2015. Different seed catalogs from companies around the country will be available for your perusal to assist in the selection and planning phase of your 2015 garden.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

The Bookshelf has another great collection of popular fiction titles from Bethany House. These are good, gentle reads, perfect for winter evenings. You’ll find them on the shelves by the cash register so come stock up.
Don’t forget to pick up a stash of magazines for road trips, a true bargain at $.25 each. Magazines are displayed on the rack outside the Bookshelf and in the non-fiction “back room” as well.
Bookshelf hours are from 10:30 AM-5:00 PM on weekdays and from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM on Saturdays.
