GILMER COUNTY, Ga. – Gilmer’s Sheriff’s Office is seeking help in locating another person in the county. However, this time, the search is a missing person rather than related to a criminal case.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Terry Cantrell, 49, was last seen between Friday evening, June 4, 2021 and early Saturday, June 5, 2021 reportedly walking on foot from Clay Top Drive in the area of Hudson Martin Road and Highway 52 East.

Some citizens have already helped, and the Sheriff’s Office is sharing that information as it asks others to help in locating Cantrell stating, “Terry is known to frequent camp sites and fishing holes in the Rackley Road area.”

Gilmer County Search and Rescue teams along with Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office have searched wooded areas via both ground and air surrounding “Postell Lake” off of Rackley Road/Hudson Martin Road for several days since the report was filed.

If you have any information leading to the whereabouts of Terry Cantrell, please contact Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office Detective Lessie Sippel at 706-635-4646 or Gilmer 911 at 706-635-8911 after business hours.
