Ellijay Elementary School will soon have a new assistant principal. In a special session last night, The Board of Education approved Katrina Kingsley as assistant principal. Kingsley will be assigned to Ellijay Elementary School. The assignment is not a replacement of personnel, but an addition.
“I feel like, after looking at the structure, the students, and the spread of the facilities, that the students and staff deserve the support of another administrator there, to assist them and also someone to be responsive to parents,”
Dorsey said. With the addition of Kingsley, Dorsey said, the four administrators at Ellijay Elementary will put the school in line with the number of administrators at Mountain View Elementary School.
Dorsey said that a fourth administrator will be a great assistance to both students and staff at Ellijay Elementary and will be a better balance of administrators and students. Kingsley will assist with the administration of the pre-k section of the school, and will begin her new role August 19th.
