Sheriff’s Office Receives Recertification

Sheriff Stacy Nicholson received the State Law Enforcement Recertification Certificate on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office at the August 25th Board of Commissioners Meeting. Hall County Sheriff Steve Cronic presented the recertification to Nicholson, emphasizing the distinction of the accomplishment. Cronic noted that out of 700 state agencies, only 100 receive recertification and only 14 are Sheriff’s Offices. Cronic said that the recertification of the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office shows that the Sheriff’s Office has displayed professionalism in law enforcement.

Gilmer County first received certification in 2008, making this event the first recertification for the county. Nicholson said he was honored to receive the recertification and was proud to share the event with the board and all who attended the meeting.
