Veteran’s Day Activities 2011

On Monday, November 7, the First Baptist Church in Ellijay will host a dinner for veterans in the Fellowship Hall. Doors will open at 5:30 and dinner will be served at 6:30. The event will be free to Gilmer County veterans and they may bring one guest each.The 2011 Veteran’s Day activities in Ellijay will begin with a breakfast at the First United Methodist Church at 9:00 am. The parade procession, which will include veterans, schools and the Honor Guard, will leave the church at 10:00 and proceed to the downtown rotary for the wreath laying ceremony. Veterans and their spouses are invited to attend a free BBQ lunch immediately following the ceremony at the Lion’s Club.

At 1:00 pm, there will be a ceremony honoring the veterans at the Clear Creek Middle School featuring the school band and chorus.
