The Gilmer High School Wrestling Team took 11 wrestlers to the Sectional tournament held at Pickens High School this past weekend. Only the top eight place winners from each weight class can compete in the State Traditional Tournament.Cameron Perry and Johnie Flakes were first place finishers. Jared Sweat and Chaz Reimer both placed second.
Marcelino Lopez, Brady McCollum, and Tyler Bertolini, and Daniel Bautista all placed third. Tyler Hill and JP Pritchett placed fourth. Jamie Lopez placed fifth and Zack Allen placed seventh.
The State Traditional Tournament will take place February 14-16th at the Mccon Centreplex in Macon.
