Jerry Milton Bowen : Obituary

Mr. Jerry Milton Bowen age 63 of the Mountaintown Community, passed from this life on Sunday, February 10th, 2103. He is a member of the Mountaintown Baptist Church. Born October 26th, 1949 to his late parents Leonard Milton and Minnie Bell Parks Bowen in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. Mr. Bowen was a High School graduate class of 1967 and attended Dalton State earning a mechanic certification. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Combat Veterian. For ten years he was a volunteer Firefighter wih the Gilmer Fire Department and was employed Master Jailer with the Picken’s County Sheriffs Department. Mr. Bowen was also an avid bass fisherman.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 12th, 2013 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. John Bramlett and Chaplain Kris Stancil. Military Graveside Service will follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion. The interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Davis, Joe Queen, Jay Carver, Kris Stancil, Mike Sales, and John Hardeman.

Survivors include wife of 35 years, Debbie Bowen of Ellijay, GA., children Terry Gambel of Ohio, Jonathan Dean of Murphy, NC., Eddie Bowen of Ellijay, GA., grandchildren Kenneth Defore, Codey Defore, Tracy Gambel, Dixie Gambel, Rachel Dean, Kevin Dean, Mark Dean and Hannah Bowen, several great grandchildren, and sister Jenny Queen of Ellijay, GA.
