Drew Parks a Gilmer High Senior is headed to the 4A State Golf Tournament on May 20, 2013 held at Dalton Golf & Country Club and also named to the 7-AAAA Region All Tournament Team.On April 22, 2013 the GHS Golf team competed in the 7-AAAA Region tournament at Dalton Golf & Country Club and fell short of the top four qualifiers for sectionals by placing sixth out of the 11 team region shooting a team total of 356 to end an undefeated regular season.

Although for senior Drew Parks the season didn’t end. After firing a team low round of 78 he placed 4th out of 66 competitors individually which qualified him to play in the 4A state tournament, a GHS first ever.

Parks and Head Coach Nick Evangelista will be headed back to Dalton Golf & Country Club early Sunday morning May 19th for a pre-tournament practice round followed by a State Tournament qualifier banquet held at the Country Club to recognize the participants.

Tournament round will start early Monday morning May 20th for both qualifying teams & individuals. Parks will be attending Point University in the fall on a golf scholarship.
