Sheriff Nicholson Releases Statement

FYN has learned approximately one hour ago the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Mark Brock in connection with yesterday’s camper incident in the Coosawattee Campground. After interviewing Brock the GCSO obtained a search warrant for his residence and for a blood test.

Brock admitted smoking methanphetimine on Monday evening. Brock was arrested for possession of methanphetimine. In addition the GCSO found there was no intruder and feels the incident was fabricated by Brock.

The Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office is further investigating if Brock gave a false statement. If the GCSO investigation results in a false report Sheriff Nicholson told FYN he plans to charge Brock for every cent he cost the citizens of Gilmer County. Sheriff Nicholson also stated that within fifteen minutes of being on scene they felt his story did not add up. But he was only 95% sure and went through all the proper procedures due to a 5% risk. At no time did the GCSO believe that any other citizens were in danger.
