Gilmer Library This Week, Check It Out

The Library will be closing at 5PM on Wednesday, November 27. We will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 in observance of Thanksgiving. We will reopen Saturday, November 30 and resume regular business hours.

Festival of Trees Opening Celebration
Monday, December 2 @ 6PM
Come help us celebrate 20 years of the Festival of Trees. This is the time of year to be thinking about community, and we like to show off our community businesses and organizations each year by hosting the Festival of Trees. To kick it off this year, we will have the Gilmer High School Jazz Cats perform some seasonal music, followed by Mountain View Elementary School’s Second Grade, who will perform a few numbers for us. Parents, don’t forget your cameras, Santa will be here to hear what all the children want for Christmas this year. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library. Hope to see you there!

The Bookshelf
This is the year to start a new tradition, a gift for everyone on your list from the Bookshelf. We have something to please every reader: fiction, humor, history, current events, kid’s books, even puzzles. There are amazing sets of like new books on the generals of the Civil War and lovely over-sized special interest volumes. Be sure to attend the Festival of Trees on December 2nd when your gift choices will be wrapped for free. This service will be continued for the week of Dec. 2 – Dec. 7.

Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
