It was a beautiful weekend for a festival. To celebrate the arrival of apple blossoms in Ellijay, the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce hosted a festival on Craig Street in East Ellijay. The festival was free so an accurate count of attendees was difficult to determine but there were approximately 45 vendors. Carla Haege with the Chamber stated, “Vendors were very excited and some of them commented that it was the best 1st time event they had ever attended.”
Carolyn Bolmering from Ellijay was the winner of the gift basket giveaway which had a variety of items donated from sponsors, along with both local and visiting vendors. The vendor products’ ranged from eatable items to arts and crafts, to businesses. All in all, this first time festival was considered a success.
