Mr. Jay C. Childers: Obituary

Mr. Jay C. Childers age 77 of Scarlett Drive, Ellijay, GA died Friday October 24, 2014. Mr. Childers was born July 26, 1937 in Pickens County to the late Allen Cronan and Bonnie Childers. He was a shop mechanic for Pilgrim’s Pride and was a member of the Berean Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Juanita Beck, brothers, Albert Childers and Arthur Cronan.

Survivors Include: wife, Eva Joe Call Childers, of the home; son and daughter in-law, Eric and Sherry Childers, Jasper, GA; daughters and son in-law, Scarlett Keener, Ellijay, GA, Andrea and Ken Wood, Jasper, GA; brothers, Bill Childers, Jasper, GA, Chuck Childers, Waleska, GA; sisters, Mary Bunch, Ludville, GA, Bertha Walker, Waleska, GA; 6 grandchildren, Joe Mullins, Justin Mullins, Andy Childers, Nathan Keener, Dashanie Lowery and Daniel Lowery III; 3 great grandchildren, R.J. Mullins, Olenia Mullins and Makaya Mullins.

Funeral Services will be held Monday October 27th at 11am from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Hensley, Rev. John Call and Rev. Casey Richards officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday October 26th from 12pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
