Lap-Sit Storytime – Fluffy Bunnies

Lap-Sit story time is a fun and personalized way to encourage early literacy by including books, songs, rhymes, and physical activity for ages 1 to 3 years with a participating adult.

Lego Club
Saturday, April 11 @ 2:00 PM
Building with Legos is just plain fun, and we offer a different theme each month. Children can work alone or in teams to make their special creations which will be displayed in the library until next month’s meeting. All ages, under 9 years of age with an adult please.

Weekday Storytime – Just Ducky

Do ducks really quack? Come and listen to Mrs. Judy as she tells the story of being Just Ducky. Right after the story, we always have craft time. All ages are welcome. Children under 9 require a responsible adult.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Join us as we watch the movie, Bridge to Terabithia based on the book by Katherine Paterson and then discuss the differences between the movie and the book – ages 12 years and up.

A romantic drama based on the 2011 Nicholas Sparks novel. A pair of former high school sweethearts reunite after many years when they return to visit their small hometown.

Internet Skills Lab

If you attended the Internet Skills seminar but still have lots of questions about using the Internet, plan to join us for an open lab session. You can also join even if you did not attend the seminar. You bring the questions and we will find the answers. Registration is recommended.

Lunch and Learn Knitting & Crocheting
Wednesday, April 15 @ 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, that’s ok. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

If you’re heading to the beach or just enjoying spring from your deck you’ll need some good paperback reading to take along. Check the Last Chance shelf as well as inside the Bookshelf for a huge selection of romance favorites.

Don’t forget to pick up a stash of magazines for road trips, a true bargain at $.25 each. Magazines are displayed on the rack outside the Bookshelf and in the non-fiction “back room” as well.

Bookshelf hours are from 10:30 AM-5:00 PM on weekdays and from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM on Saturdays.
