Superhero Game Day
Thursday, July 9 @ 3:00 PM
Join us for just good ole’ fun and games. We provide a variety of board and card games for you and your children to play. You provide the superhero gaming abilities. Ages 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Lego Club
Saturday, July 11 @ 2:00 PM
Do you have a creative child? Do they like playing with Legos? If so, join us for Lego Club. We meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month, and whatever your child creates will be displayed at the library until the next meeting. Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

Jr. Master Gardeners – Garden Angels
Wednesday. July 15 @ 3:00 PM
June Harrison will teach you how to make garden angels and explains why flowers are so important to every ecosystem.

Friday Teen Movie – Mythbusters Superhero Hour
Friday, July 10 @ 3:00 PM
The Mythbusters put Marvel Superheroes to the test. Can you leave a ring imprint on a surface? Can you use a device to rise skyward? Can you use a grappling hook to make a 90 degree turn while driving? Ages 12 and up.

Teen Book Club
Monday, July 13 @ 5:00 PM
This month we will be discussing Sherlock Holmes and watching the movie later in the week. Ages 12 years and up.

Galaxy Man
Tuesday, July 14 @ 3:00 PM
Galaxy Man creator Kyle Putkammer will offer an insider’s look at the amazing world of Superheroes! Attendees will have plenty of opportunities to draw.

Would you like a chance to win a new GoPro White? Then come and participate in our Summer Reading Program. You do have to sign up and read some books to have a chance to win. A very big thank you goes out to the Friends of the Gilmer County Library for donating the prize.

Adult Programs

SRP is not just for kids. Adults are encouraged to also share in the fun of summer reading. We will give away several gift bags full of cool things at the conclusion of SRP. Call the library for full details.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

Christmas in July! It’s time to get started on projects for the holiday and this week the Bookshelf is offering an excellent selection on Christmas needlework projects and gifts
Take a look at the “last chance” shelves where our inventory of half-priced books is refreshed weekly. You can put your payment for these books in the donations box if the Bookshelf is closed.
Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
