Lapsit Storytime

“Dear Dragon” – Lapsit is a fun way to encourage early literacy by including books, songs, rhymes, and physical activity for ages 1 to 3 years with a participating adult.

Teen Coding

Come learn the basics of coding.  Each meeting will build on the previous, but you can work at your own pace.  No computer at home? No problem!  Join at any time!  Ages 12 and up.

Think coloring is just kid’s stuff? Think again! If you’re looking for stress relief, a boost to your creative juices or just a minute of downtime with friends, then you should join us Tuesdays in September from 2PM-4PM. Coloring sheets, pencils, crayons and markers are provided.  You supply a youthful and creative spirit.

Word Lab

Last week we explored the basics of Microsoft Word. This week we will continue assisting you with creating your documents, adding content, saving your files and using templates. Registration and an active library card are required.

Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, September 30 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit or crochet, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, that’s ok. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

If you’re not already a Friend of the Library please join us next time you come into the Bookshelf.  Memberships start at only $10.00 and contribute to buying new books (including E-books) for the library’s collection.  You’ll enjoy the monthly newsletter, special events, and will be the first to know about the collections we put out each week.

Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
