Mr. Edward S. Mayfield age 94 of Chatsworth formerly of Ellijay died Thursday September 24, 2015

Mr. Mayfield was born February 19, 1921 in Gilmer County the son of the late Sam and Rilla Knight Mayfield. He worked as a supervisor for Blue Ridge Carpet, was a US Army veteran serving in WWII and was of the Baptist Faith. She is preceded in death by parents and siblings Claude, Cleveland, Hugh, Gene, Jerry and Fred Mayfield, Lena Davis and Ruth Nicholson.

Survivors include: wife of 61 yrs, Ruth Green Mayfield, sons and daughters-in-law; Allen and Lynn Mayfield, Chatsworth, Gary and Joyce Mayfield, Indianapolis, IN , Dan and Mary Mayfield, Chatsworth, 5 grandchildren, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Sunday September 27, 2015 at 2:30 pm from the Liberty Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Paul Richards officiating.

The family will meet with friends Sunday from 11:00am until 2:00pm at the funeral home.
