This month’s book is Coraline by Neil Gaiman. Read the book then come watch the movie. Then discuss the differences between the book and the movie. Ages 7+. Kids 9 and under with adult supervision please.

Sister Magic: The Trouble with Violet by Kate McMullan. For children in grades 2-4. Drop by the library before the meeting to pick up your reading packet. Read the book before the meeting and come prepared to discuss the book with other children. Kids 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

If you’re looking for stress relief, a boost to your creative juices or just a minute of downtime with friends, then you should join us Tuesdays in October from 11AM-1PM. Coloring sheets, pencils, crayons and markers are provided. You supply a youthful and creative spirit.

Lunch & Learn Knitting

Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit or crochet, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, that’s ok. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.
The Friends of the Library Bookshelf
Get in the Halloween spirit with a scary novel or a book of spooky southern folk tales featured in the Bookshelf this week. You’ll also find costume and décor inspiration in the collection on the center stand of the Bookshelf.
Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
