This week’s theme is “Pet Parade” January’s story themes are all about the pets, animals, and how we love them. All ages welcome. Story time and LapSit are excellent ways to strengthen your children’s literacy skills, and all stories are always followed by a simple craft you can complete with your child.

Lunch & Learn Knitting

Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! It’s OK if can’t come to all the meetings. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color. This is a “drop in when you can” event.
Master Gardeners Series
Thursday, February 4 @ 6:00 PM
The Gilmer County Master Gardeners will discuss the Hows, Whens, and Whys of pruning. Cindy Tesar and Beverly Martarella will provide information on the art and science of pruning including tool care and maintenance, techniques, and timing. Participants will receive handouts on correct times to prune common garden plants/shrubs/trees. In addition, Jessica Tibbetts, Gilmer County Library Adult Services Coordinator, will talk about the new Seed Exchange program that will be offered at the library. There will be a nice collection of new seed catalogs for participants to take home.

Memberships start at only $10.00 and contribute to buying new books and eBooks for the library’s collection. You’ll enjoy our monthly newsletter, be a part of our special events, and will be the first to know about the collections we put out each week.
Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
