This week’s theme is “Peculiar Pets” February’s story themes are all about the pets, animals, and how we love them. All ages welcome. Story time and LapSit are excellent ways to strengthen your children’s literacy skills, and all stories are always followed by a simple craft you can complete with your child.

Learn how to stay connected by joining and using social media. We will introduce you to several social media sites. A current email address is required if you want to create an account.
Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, February 24 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! It’s OK if can’t come to all the meetings. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color. This is a “drop in when you can” event.
DIY Decorating on a Dime

Join local interior designer extraordinaire Sarah Cole as she discusses simple, low-cost ways to rejuvenate your home. Light refreshments are graciously provided by the Friends of the Gilmer County Library.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

This week’s special is for kids only, a great collection of Scholastic books for young readers. Included are many recent nature and science titles, perfect for home schooling or reference, and all at our very low prices. Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
