County Looks To Fill ER Gap

News

Many citizens are still talking about the hospital as the emergency room has closed, wondering what the reduced number a beds in the hospital means for our county.

You can check out the Press Release From Tony Pritchett for Public Safety’s response. FYN sat down with Chairman Paris to look deeper at the situation. Chairman Paris stated, “We in the County are responding any way we can to this issue.” As emergency staff increases its number of members and training for the staff, the county continues to search for possibilities to up its quality of of service.

In previous Commissioners meetings, the County agreed to pursue two ambulances this year as they found two refurbished ambulances to remount. They could be looking at attempting to do the same thing next year to effectively increase the size of their fleet.

While the county has no reports of major issues so far with ambulance services to other hospitals, the question on everyone’s mind is, “What happens when a critical situation arises that cannot wait for a drive to Piedmont or another hospital?”
