Join us for this week’s story “Mud Puddle Mania” All ages welcome. Both Story Time and LapSit are excellent ways to strengthen your children’s literacy skills, and all stories are always followed by a simple craft you can complete with your child.
Tween Book Club Movie
Monday, April 11 @ 5:00 PM
This month’s book is The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo. Read the book then come watch the movie. Afterward we will discuss the differences between the book and the movie. Ages 9+. Kids 9 and under with adult supervision please.
My 1st Book Club
Tuesday, April 12 @ 4:00 PM
My First Book Club “Cowgirl Kate & Cocoa” by Erica Silverman. For children in grades 2-4. Drop by the library before the meeting to pick up your reading packet. Read the book before the meeting and come prepared to discuss the book with other children. Kids 9 and under with adult supervision please.

How to Etsy

Have you ever thought of selling items on Etsy but was just unsure of the basics to using Etsy? Come join us for a few quick lessons. Please contact the library for signup info. An active library card is required.
Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, April 13 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! Its OK if can’t come to all the meetings. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color. This is a “drop in when you can” event.
GCGSI Monthly Meeting

April’s speaker is Emily Beaman Beal. Emily is a member of the local D.A.R. chapter and she will be informing us on what things the Daughters of the American Revolution do in your community.

Saturday Matinee – In the Heart of the Sea
Saturday April 16 @ 2:00 PM
Starting this month, GCL will show matinees on 2 Saturdays each month. This week’s movie is In the Heart of the Sea. Most movies are suitable for all ages. Light refreshments will be available during the movie.
The Friends of the Library Bookshelf
This week the Bookshelf is offering our first special of the month on great reads for kids. We have a huge selection of very lightly used hardback picture/story books for tots and very young readers, all $.50 each. These ex-library books have protectively wrapped covers, beautiful illustrations and charming stories, an irresistible buy.
Friends of the Library memberships start at only $10.00 and contribute to buying new books, e-books, and supplies for the library. You’ll enjoy the monthly newsletter, special events, and will be the first to know about the collections we put out each week.
