Mrs. Myrtle J. McArthur, age 89, of Talking Rock, GA formerly of Ellijay, died Wednesday April 13, 2016.

Mrs. McArthur was born April 12, 1927 in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Robert and Lear Chapman Rogers. She worked for many years for Pickens Footwear, was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman David McArthur and son Herman David McArthur, Jr.

Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law: Bobby and Charlotte McArthur, Oxford, Ga., Jerry and Andrea McArthur, Dalton, Carol McArthur,Jasper,grandchildren; Kimberly Steele, Melanie Gibson, Blake, Wade and David McArthur, 9 great-grandchildren and brother and sister-in-law: Joe and Geraldine Rogers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev.Tom Foskey and Rev. Donnie Caylor officiating. Interment will be in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper.

The family will receive friends Friday April 15,2016 from 5 until 9pm at the funeral home.
Bernhardt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

    Hello Bob and family. As you know Mrs McAurthur was very dear to me during my time as Activity assistant at Rockdale. We had some great times together. All she did was pray, sing, and talk about how much she loved you, She was a blessing. The type of person you never forget. My condolences, thank you for being the rare child that we care providers dont see as often as you think. You took great care of her.
