Gilmer Bobcats Celebrate Banner Year

GHS Wrestling, Team FYN Sports

The Gilmer High School Bobcats wrestling squad officially ended its season last night, with an awards banquet at First Baptist Church in Ellijay.

GHS captured its 15th state duals championship during the 2015-16 season and of the six Bobcats that placed at the state traditional tournament, four clinched the crown of state champion in Gilmer’s eventual state championship crown.

After a catered meal from Bigun’s Barbeque, every Gilmer grappler received participation awards. Coaches Sam Snider, Josh Snider, Greg Wingo and Casey Wingard each summarized the accomplishments of the season as the banquet progressed. Following the individual awards, a highlight reel concluded the ceremony.
