The 2016 Summer Reading Program (SRP) started 5/20/2016 and concludes 7/29/2016. SRP is for all age groups not just children. GCL will host fun, exciting events and programs for all ages throughout this summer. Check our Facebook page for details.

Move-It Mondays – Zumba
School-age kids can get their wiggles out by joining us for our Move-It Monday series. This week we will be doing Zumba. No experience required or expected.
Tween Book Club – Zathura
Monday, June 13 @ 5:00 PM
Join us as we watch the movie Zathura which is based on the book written by Chris Van Allsburg. After the movie, there will be a discussion about the book and movie.
Storytime

“You’ve Got to Move It!” – Family story times are designed for families with children of all ages. Story time is followed by a craft activity. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Reading Dogs

Reading with Rackley. Children 6 years of age and older can read to Rackley who won’t laugh if mistakes are made or the reader stumbles. You can even tell her about the craft you made at Craft-It-Tuesday.

On your mark, get set – we’re going to the Olympics! Skeeter has been training hard for over a week so that he can make it to the Olympic Games, while Riki Rabbit aims to fulfill her dreams of carrying the Olympic torch. Kids and adults will love this interactive puppet show by Curious Moon Puppets.

Happy Father’s Day! Bring your little Jedi to the library to watch the newest Star Wars movie, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Come early to work on crafts and activities before the movie starts. Movie is Rated PG-13

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf
This is garden help week, with a special collection of books to help you solve plant problems, inspire pots for your porch or deck, and help you plan for fall veggies. These books are as beautiful as they are useful, fun for browsing or for true work.
Take a look at the “last chance” shelves where our inventory of half-priced books is refreshed weekly. You can put your payment for these books in the donations box if the Bookshelf is closed.
