“Check It Out” at the Gilmer Library, Week of 6/27 to 7/2

This Week @ Gilmer County Library: June 27, 2016 – July 2, 2016

The library will be closed Monday, July 4th.
The 2016 Summer Reading Program (SRP) started 5/20/2016 and concludes 7/29/2016. SRP is for all age groups not just children. GCL will host fun, exciting events and programs for all ages throughout this summer. Check our Facebook page for details.
*Beginning July 1, 2016, GCL’s new operating hours on Fridays and Saturdays will be 9AM-6PM. Operating hours on Mondays thru Thursdays will be remain from 9AM-8PM.

Child Programs

CIRQUE du TODD combines juggling, circus skills, a little magic, and just the right mix of comedy and reading encouragement for kids of all ages! Fun for the whole family!
Storytime
Tuesday, June 28 @ 10:30 AM
“Play Ball!” – Family story times are designed for families with children of all ages. Story time is followed by a craft activity. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Craft-It Tuesday
Kids 7-11 are invited to come get crafty. We will have a different craft each week. See the library for more information.
Reading Dogs
Tuesday, June 28 @ 3:30 PM
Reading with Rackley. Children 6 years of age and older can read to Rackley who won’t laugh if mistakes are made or the reader stumbles. You can even tell her about the craft you made at Craft-It-Tuesday.

|Come listen to the fascinating story of thru-hiker of both the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail, Robert Hirsch as he shares his experiences and insights gained during the 6 years he spent pulling a bike trailer around the globe.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

Remember that the library welcomes donations of gently read books and magazines. Those that the library doesn’t need come to the Bookshelf, with all the proceeds benefiting the library. Don’t forget to visit the “back room” of the Bookshelf for newly stocked non-fiction and magazines.
