Mr. Eugene “Gene” Joseph Grandolfi, age 88 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, He was a member of the Catholic Faith, born August 11th, 1927 in Ardsley, New York to his late parents Frank Joseph and Mary Bianco Grandolfi. A honorably discharged U.S. Navy Veteran serving during WWII. Mr. Grandolfi was a graduate of Ardsley High School, Class of 1944 and a 50 year employee, retired from DuraCell Battery Inc. He is preceded in death by his wife Helen Mary Grandolfi, sisters, Christine Galetta and Mary Galetta and brother, John Grandolphi.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday July 16, 2016 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Carlos Vargas officiating.Military honors will follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with rites performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Entombment will take place in the Forest Hills Cemetery , Lexington, NC. at 2:00 pm, Monday July 18th, 2016.

Survivors include Daughters & Sons-in-law Vicki & Greg Verego of Ellijay, Patricia Toni Mitchell of Hartford, CT; grandchildren Clint Mitchell, Mallory Mitchell, Jennifer (Jason) Collier; great-grandchildren Riley Collier, Reese Collier and Mason Mitchell.

Family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM until the time of the service, on Saturday. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation 1687 Tullie Circle, NE Atlanta, GA 30329, in memory of Gene Grandolfi.
