Mrs. Emily Louise Peterson O’Neal, age 68 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Sunday evening, August 7, 2016, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Georgia.

Mrs. O’Neal was born June 15, 1948 in Pensacola, FL to her late parents James Annett Peterson and Ruby Louise Sanders Peterson. She was of the Baptist faith, a graduate of Pensacola Woodham High School, Class of 1966, and retired from BellSouth after 20 years of employment. Emily is preceded in death by her brother, James Peterson.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ronnie O’Neal, Sr. of the home in Ellijay, GA; Sons and daughters-in-law Ronnie, Jr. and Audra O’Neal of Griffin, GA, David and Jordan O’Neal of Locust Grove, GA, and Brian and Lindsey O’Neal of McDonough, GA; Grandchildren, Jake O’Neal, Kaleigh O’Neal, Alston Ivy, Noah O’Neal, Paiton O’Neal, Maddy O’Neal, and Molly O’Neal; Brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Debbie Peterson of Pensacola, FL; Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Friday, August 12th, 2016 from the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with Dr. David Drake officiating. Graveside interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA at 11:30AM on Friday, August 12th, 2016.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Logan Funeral Home.
