All ages welcome. Family Story Time is an excellent way to strengthen your children’s literacy skills, and all stories are always followed by a simple craft you can complete with your child.

Kubo and the Two Strings – Young Kubo’s (Art Parkinson) peaceful existence comes crashing down when he accidentally summons a vengeful spirit from the past. Now on the run, Kubo joins forces with Monkey (Charlize Theron) and Beetle (Matthew McConaughey) to unlock a secret legacy. Free refreshments.

Lunch & Learn Knitters
Wednesday, February 1 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Lauren Cape and Lynda Decker will be your host and teacher. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! It’s OK if can’t come to all the meetings. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color.  If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color

 

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

It’s time to start planning your garden and the Bookshelf has a wonderful group of gardening books on offer this week, many regionally relevant.  Check the cart outside the Bookshelf for beautiful titles on organic gardening, vegetables, landscape planning, garden features and more.

Thinking of donating books to your library?  Do it now!  The newer the books, the more likely they are to be added to the library’s collection.  They will also be welcome at the Bookshelf and appreciated by our customers.

Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from 12:00-2:00 on Saturdays
