Mr. Joseph F. (PaPa Joe) Murphy, age 80, of Ellijay, died Monday, April 16, 2018.

Mr. Murphy was born, January 6, 1938, in Miami, FL the son of the late Floyd Murphy and Mary Hovart Murphy. He graduated from Jackson High School in Miami FL, served in the Army National Guard, worked in management for a telecommunications company and served as assistant Magistrate Judge of Gilmer County. His sister Patsy Mason preceded him in death.

Survivors include; wife; Chris Murphy, son, Dale Murphy, Ellijay, daughters; Lynda Bartley, Austin TX, Teresa Jo Murphy, Cleveland, TN, brother; Don Murphy, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, sister; Bobby Andreolis, Tallahassee, FL, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, also survive.

The family will meet with friends Saturday April 21,from 4 until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
