Mr. Nalis R. Mooney, JR age 77, of Ellijay, died Saturday, April 14, 2018.

Mr. Mooney was born January 6, 1941, in Gilmer County the son of the late Elder Nalis R. and Rilla McClure Mooney. He was a veteran serving with the US Army, retired from General Motors Company, operated Stagecoach Flea Market in Talking Rock and attended Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church.  He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, James Tandy Mooney, Alice Waters, Lola Hunter and Lois Mulkey.

Survivors include: wife; Brenda Akins Mooney, son and daughter in law; Roger Phillip and Ashley Mooney Ellijay, son; Dennis Lane Mooney, Marietta, daughters; Rhonda Elaine and Donna Jane Mooney both of Ellijay, grandchildren; Mason Lee, Jackson Lane, Cash Michael and Morgan Grace Mooney, great-grand child; Grayson Boone Cselle, brothers; Elder Paul Mooney, Ellijay, George H. Mooney, Decatur, sisters; Jo Ann Hill and Lemma Sanford both of Ellijay. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Elder David Smith and Elder Paul Mooney officiating. Interment will be in the N.R. Mooney Memorial Gardens with graveside rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will meet with friends Sunday from 4 until 8pm and all day Monday until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
