Lola Baliles Brooks

March 17, 1930 – February 9, 2019

Ms. Lola Jane Brooks, age 88, of Ellijay, died Saturday, February 9, 2019.

Ms. Brooks was born March 17th 1930 in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Alex Baliles and Mae Bearden Baliles. She worked in the textile industry, working at Hampton Mills which is now Spring Mills, she was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Brooks.

Survivors include: Sons; Wade Brooks Ellijay, Freddie Brooks Ellijay, son and daughter-in-law Eddie (Sid) and Rhonda Brooks Daughter; Sandy Deyoung Canton, 3 Grandchildren, Joel Brooks, Brett Brooks, Krista MacArthur, 3 Great- Grandchildren Palin, and Reagan, Mia several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Yukon cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
