Join us for this week’s story “It’s A Party!” All ages welcome. Both Story Time and LapSit are excellent ways to strengthen your children’s literacy skills, and all stories are always followed by a simple craft you can complete with your child.
The Lego Crew

Lego Crew has a different theme each month. Children can work alone or in teams to make their own special creations, which will be displayed at the library until the next month’s meeting. Lego Crew is open to anyone who want to participate.

Adult Programs

Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, August 10 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Lauren Cape and Lynda Decker will be your host and teacher. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! It’s OK if can’t come to all the meetings. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color
Deany Brady

Former Gilmer County resident and author Deany Brady will talk about her second book and memoir Higher than Yonder Mountain. She will also be signing copies of her books. Light refreshments will be offered.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

The Bookshelf has received another generous donation of like-new books on religion and spirituality. Many of these recent publications are completely unread, all in excellent condition.
If you’re not already a Friend of the Library please join us next time you come into the Bookshelf. Memberships start at only $10.00 and contribute to buying new books for the GCL. You will also enjoy the monthly newsletter, special events, and will be the first to know about the collections we put out each week.
