Martha Twiggs Walker

January 18, 1923 – January 20, 2019

Mrs. Martha Lee Twiggs Walker, age 96, of Ellijay, died Sunday, January 20, 2019.

Mrs. Walker was born January 18, 1923 in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Robert Ella Rosa Stover Twiggs. She was a housewife and member of the Mt. Pleasant (Top of the Mountain) Baptist Church. Her husband Woodrow Walker, grandson, Larry Walker and great grandson, Tyler Walker preceded her in death.

Survivors include: sons: Ernest and Randall Walker both of Ellijay, daughters and son-in-law’s; Imogene and Lowell Jones, Ellijay, Sue and Kenneth McVey, Ellijay, Bonnie and LeRoy Winkles, Tyrone, Marlene and Gerald Starks, Ellijay, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 23, 2019 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Cantrell and Rev. Steve Jones officiating.  Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant (Top of the Mountain) Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 3:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Pruitt Hospice in memory of Mrs. Walker.
