The undefeated Clear Creek Middle School Bobcats football team remained unbeaten after a home game show down with the Dragons of Pickens County Middle School. The “Cats” claimed a 38-0 victory over the Dragons, and will look to face Dawson Middle school for the Mountain League Championship.The “Cats” cooled the Dragons from the jump, as Josh White took the opening kickoff back for a touchdown, giving the Bobcats a 6-0 lead a mere 17 seconds into the game. A failed two point conversion attempt saw the score stay at 6-0.

Blayze McBrayer scored the next touchdown for the Bobcats on a 32 yard scamper with five minutes left in the first half. The “Cats” led 14-0 after Greg Engler scored the two point conversion. McBrayer scored again exactly two minutes later from 41 yards out. After McBrayer scored the two point conversion, Clear Creek held a commanding 22-0 lead that the “Cats” would take into half-time.

The Bobcats built the lead up more with 3:15 left in the third quarter, when Kamron Engler scored on a 35 yard touchdown run. Griffin Cagle made it 30-0 with a two point conversion run. The score remained the same throughout the rest of the period.

On the ensuing drive, Clear Creek’s Hunter Patterson picked off a Pickens pass. This led to the last score of the day, a 42 yard rushing touchdown and two point conversion run from McBrayer. With 16 seconds into the fourth quarter the “Cats” led 38-0.

The win meant an undefeated regular season and a Mountain League Championship showdown with Dawson, which will take place Thursday October, 4th at 5pm.
