LOOKING FOR A JOB???? PICKENS COUNTY JOB FAIR COMING SOON

If you are looking for a job, mark your calendar for Thursday, April 10, 2014 the day of the First Annual Pickens County Job Fair. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and finish at 2:00 p.m. and is being held at Chattahoochee Technical College in Jasper.
Companies from Cherokee, Gilmer and Pickens Counties are being invited to come to the job fair and find qualified, dedicated employees that meet their job needs. All levels of jobs will be available including minimal experience jobs to professional and supervisory positions, depending on educational levels and experience.

Efforts are being made to assure full time as well as some part time employers with skills including food industry, maintenance, health care, insurance, manufacturing, electrician, engineers, lifeguards, swim instructors, and other jobs.

Candidates seeking employment are urged to come prepared. Candidates presenting an up to date resume, conducting themselves well during the interview process, and looking like the right person for the job will most likely find success at this job fair.

The Community Resource Center located next to CARES (87 Cares Drive, Jasper, GA) offers free of charge training in interview techniques and will help you prepare a resume to take to the job fair. Hours at the Resource Center are:
Monday, 1-3:00 p.m.; Wednesday, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.; and Friday, 8:30 a.m. until noon. Just drop in. No need for an appointment. And this is free.

Finally, candidates are encouraged to “look good”. First impressions mean a lot. The Pickens County Community Thrift Store will help in this effort by providing Pickens County residents a complimentary outfit for the job-seeking occasion. Just bring your completed resume with you to the thrift store and ask for their assistance.
