Book-A-Librarian

Are you wondering what to read next? Or maybe you need help getting started with your e-reader. Do you need help researching a topic? Would you like a tour of the library? You might need to Book-A-Librarian. The Book-A-Librarian service allows you to reserve a free, 30-minute session with a librarian on Monday or Thursday between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Please call the library for more details.

The last day to turn in your Summer Reading Program reading log is August 7^th.

Family Storytime and lapsit will resume the week of August 10^th.

Local football legend John Davis and new Head Football Coach Zach Grage will tell tall football tales, answer questions about football experiences, and let you know what to expect from this year’s edition of Gilmer Bobcat football. Light refreshments will be served

Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, August 5 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit or crochet, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, that’s ok. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

Got bored kids or grandkids? We have the perfect solution for keeping them entertained and happy. A generous patron donated a world of beautiful craft books for kids and you’ll find something for every interest, from pre-school to teenagers, maybe even something tempting for yourself.

Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
