Gilmer Soccer Recognizes 2016 Seniors

GHS Soccer, Team FYN Sports

In-between girls and boys region matches against Ridgeland last night, the Gilmer High School soccer team held senior night festivities for its nine soon-to-be graduates.

Candy Bautista, #7 for the Lady Cats, is the daughter of Francisco Bautista and Petrona Jose. She has played four years of soccer for the Lady Cats, as well as running cross country for four years as well. Bautista was involved with the Interact Club and the French Honor Society. After graduating, she plans to attend either the University of North Georgia or Dalton State College, to pursue a medical degree.

Chayce Durden, #5 for the Lady Cats, is the daughter of Chris and Carrie Durden. She has played one year of soccer for the Lady Cats. After graduating, Durden plans to attend Armstrong State University and major in forensic pathology.

Haley Farmer, #13 for the Lady Cats, is the daughter of Regina Farmer. She has played four years of soccer for the Lady Cats. Farmer has also been a member of FFA and the GHS band. After graduation, she plans to attend college and major in nursing.

Rosio Landaverde is #16 for the Lady Cats. She has played four years of soccer for the Lady Cats. Landaverde has also been a member of the Junior Board and Beta Club at GHS and has also been on the honor roll for four years at GHS. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of North Georgia and begin the pursuit of a medical degree.

Kate Schiesser is #14 for the Lady Cats. She has played four years of soccer for the Lady Cats. Schiesser is also a student leader at Ellijay’s First United Methodist Church and an honor graduate at GHS. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of North Georgia.

Elva Rafael-Tercero, #6 for the Lady Cats, is the daughter of Antonio Rafael and Vitalina Tercero. Rafael-Tercero has played three years of soccer for the Lady Cats, as well as running cross country for two years. She has also been involved with FCCLA, Journalism, the Interact Club and FEA. After graduation, Rafael-Tercero plans to attend either the University of North Georgia or Dalton State College and become either a dental hygienist or a certified translator.

Toni Murillo, #11 for the Bobcats, is the son of Margarita Murillo. He has played soccer for four years for the Bobcats. After graduation, he plans to attend Dalton State College and major in business.

Kevin Flores, #6 for the Bobcats, is the son of Silvia Sanchez. He has played soccer for four years for the Bobcats. After graduation, he plans to attend the University of North Georgia and major in either finance or business.

Jon Bremm is #2 for the Bobcats. He has played soccer for four years for the Bobcats. After graduation, he plans to attend college and begin his pursuit of becoming a surgeon.
