Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Lauren Cape and Lynda Decker will be your host and teacher. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! It’s OK if can’t come to all the meetings. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color

“The BFG” “The BFG” Adapted from Roald Dahl’s beloved novel, which centers on the unlikely friendship between a lonely orphan named Sophie and the titular “big friendly giant”. Together, the pair explore Giant Country and collect dreams, and they try to warn the Queen of England about the threat posed by the other giants, who, unlike the vegetarian BFG, eat children for sustenance. January is a grand time to take up a new hobby. Come find inspiration in the collection of books featured at the Bookshelf this week: Guitar? Quilting? Photography? Ballroom dancing? Oil painting? We’ve got you covered, with great books at great prices.
Take a look at the “last chance” shelves where our inventory of half-priced books is refreshed weekly. You can put your payment for these books in the donations box if the Bookshelf is closed. Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from 12:00-2:00 on Saturdays
