Vehicle Fire Closes Highway 515

ELLIJAY, GA – All southbound lanes of Highway 515 are currently closed due to an accident involving a vehicle fire.
FYN understands that life flight is on scene currently though no statement has been released on the number injured or possible fatalities.
The Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office has released the following statement:
Vehicle fire on Hwy. 515 South in the area of Whitestone Road. All southbound lanes are shut down at this time. Emergency crews are on scene and life flight will likely be landing in the area and may shut down northbound lanes as well.
Stay with FYN as further updates are released and please find alternative paths if you need to travel south.
UPDATE – Officers on scene are telling travelers to take the 382 to Old 5 to get past the accudent.
