Edward Don Palmer

1958 – 2018

GySgt. Edward Don Palmer, USMC, Ret. age 60 of Ellijay, GA passed on Monday, November 5th, 2018 at his residence.

GySgt. Palmer was born on September 16th, 1958 to his late parents, Felix and Juanita Palmer. Edward served his country honorably for over 17 years in the United States Marine Corps. During part of his military career, he served as the radio communicator aboard the HMX1, the Marine helicopter for President Ronald Reagan.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, John Wesley Palmer, III of North Richland Hills, TX, and Joseph Andrew and Haylee Dee Palmer of Haltom, TX; grandchildren, Jace Michael Palmer and Dash Andrew Palmer; sister, Rose Marie Palmer of West Palm Beach, FL also survives.

A military memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 1st, 2018 from the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion, with graveside military rites performed by the United States Marine Corps.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 in memory of Mr. Palmer.
