EAST ELLIJAY, Ga. – The Gilmer Chamber has confirmed that Tourism Manager Karla Roper has accepted a position as Executive Director of the Georgia Wine Producers Association.

Paige Green, President & CEO of the Gilmer Chamber, said,“Karla brings a level of professionalism along with a passion and creative talent to everything she does. Her talents and infectious spirit will be missed. However, we wish her well and look forward to continuing to work with her in her new role.”

Roper started with the Chamber on June 10, 2013. She was originally hired as Communications Manager. Now, she leaves just under six years later.

A search will begin soon for a new tourism manager and the job will be posted at www.gilmerchamber.com.
