Ray was born, October 12, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Raymond Nolan and Thelma Aileen Snyder Evans. He was a veteran serving in the US. Army in Vietnam and retired as a retailer for Direct TV. His parents and siblings Roger Evans and Robin Montion preceded him in death.

Survivors include: wife; Adeline Ponders, children; Jacob Evans, Summer Hahlan, Tabitha Adams , both of Colorado, Fawn Evans, Des Moines, Iowa, Ann Ponders, Ellijay, brothers; Rick Evans, MI, Randy Evans, Ohio, sister; Rhonda Watts, Lawrenceville, several grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday January 15, 2020 at 11:00am from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery with military honors by the US Army.

The family will meet with friends Wed from 10:00am until the service hour of 11:00am at the funeral home.
