HPC Approves Sliding Glass Walls at Upcoming Roof Top Bar

Historic Preservation Commission, News

ELLIJAY, Ga. – The Ellijay Historic Preservation Commission approved a sliding glass wall for Ellijay’s upcoming roof top bar, “The Roof”, during their meeting held on Monday, January 10, 2020.

The main purpose of these sliding glass walls is simply security, according to property owner Matt Bond.

The doors are intended to keep people from simply stealing the bars product, including anyone underage who may gain access to the roof after hours.

When questioned by the Commission as to whether or not the glass was the best way to go about securing his product, Bond stated that security cameras will still be in place, as well as an alarm system on the glass itself.

The Commission approved the installation of the new glass walls unanimously, as no previous structure is being modified.

Bond and his associates do not anticipate that they will need to come again before the Commission for approval to modify any of the remaining structures of the building, and hope to be up and running in time for the Monday, March 9, 2020 super moon, weather permitting.

Be sure to stay tuned for future updates on The Roof!
