Mr. Roger Antonio Gutierrez age 72 of Ellijay, GA passed at his home on Thursday July 11, 2019. He was born December 25^th, 1947 to his late parents Rogelio Periquet Rufilanchas and Maria Antonia Gutierrez in Madrid, Spain. Mr. Gutierrez graduated from Dougherty County High School, Class of 1965 and retired from Coco Cola as an account manager for 20 plus years. He attended First Baptist Church of Ellijay and was very involved in the music ministry as a guitar and bass player.

A celebration of life concert will be held to honor Roger at 7:00pm Sunday August 4^th, 2019 from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Eaton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00pm until the ceremony at 7:00pm in the church sanctuary.

Roger is survived by his wife of 16 years, Shawnee Roane Gutierrez of Ellijay, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan & Kimberly Gutierrez and children Andrew & Makayla Gutierrez of Covington, GA; daughter, Amanda Jo Brooks and son William Brooks Owens of Moreland, GA; son, John & Alicia Carver and children Katherine and Natalie Carver of Panama City, FL; sister, Solines Periquet Sanchez of the Grand Canary Islands; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society at 300 W. Emery Street Ste. 106 Dalton, GA 30720 in memory of Mr. Gutierrez.
