Stefanie (Stefi) Kaye Posey: Obituary

Obituaries

Stefanie (Stefi) Kaye Posey, of Columbus, GA, went to rest in the arms of her Lord surrounded by family on Saturday, August 3, 2019. She was 47 years old.

Stefanie ( Stefi) was of small statue but she had an enormous heart. Born with Down’s Syndrome and developing too many complications through her life to mention, she rose to the challenge and pushed through hurdles most of us could not imagine. She managed to conquer and adapt to her disabilities with an amazing willpower. She touched the lives of so many along her journey. After Columbus, Stefi moved with her parents to Frankfurt and Stuttgart, Germany, Enterprise, AL, Clarksville, TN, Kennesaw, GA, Valdosta, GA at “Parkwood”, and finally Suwanee, GA at “Annandale”. The small wheels on her wheelchairs and walkers did not stop her from traveling all around Europe and many places in the United States. Her striking beautiful red hair and infectious smile and laugh attracted the attention of many. Once you met Stefi, you were inspired by her courage, determination and love. Once you loved Stefi, you became special also. Stefi had many adoring and amazing friends, teachers, caregivers, health care providers as well as a huge extended loving family. Her mother, father, brother and sister were blessed to have her as their daughter, sister and brother. She definitely earned her wings as an angel.

Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday August 8th, 2019 from the Good Samaritan Catholic Church with Father Carlos Vargas officiating.
